Animation Report

Animation has been around for a very long time, however no one can be considered as the 'creator' or animation as many different people were working on different projects around the same time. Animation is the display of images in a sequence in 2D or 3D artwork or model positioning to create and optical illusion of motion. This can be performed in many different ways and techniques.

When animation was first discovered the techniques they used were simple but effective. Examples of these are 'the flip book' and the 'zoetrope', both of these types of animation produced movement through sequential drawings. However no further animation techniques were created until the cinematography was advent.

Animation today has developed dramatically, now in the 20th century you have many different ways of producing animation. Most companies/organisations do this on the computer, many different types on software have been developed to help them produce this. For example games developers will only use animation software to produce characters and scenes that make it easy for them, example is DAZ 3D.

Animation is still progressing as time goes on and as technology develops, techniques and software will develop further. The future holds alot for animation and organisations that use animation software alot.
